Kyoko Yoshida writes fiction in English and essays in Japanese. She also translates contemporary Japanese poetry into English and American fiction into Japanese. She has published two collections of short stories in English: Disorientalism and Spring Sleepers. Yoshida is the founding director of the Kyoto Writers Residency and teaches at Kyoto University.
