In this unique talk, writers Miura Fumiko and Tettyo Saito, who have explored publishing in lesser-known European languages, will engage in a discussion moderated by Kyoko Yoshida, an author, translator, lecturer, and director of the Kyoto Writers Residency. They will delve into the nuances of language acquisition in both academic and everyday contexts, reflecting on how these experiences have influenced their writing, creative processes, perspectives, and even their reading habits.

The conversation will also address the contrasts between Japanese and European editorial practices, providing a rare insight into the differing literary landscapes.
