Dominique Barbéris
Novelist
French novelist Dominique Barbéris was awarded the 2023 Grand Prix du Roman from the Académie française for her latest book, Une façon d’aimer. Her debut novel, La Ville, was published by Arléa in 1996, followed by nine books released by Gallimard. Her work Les Kangourous was adapted into a film by Anne Fontaine under the title Entre ses mains. In 2008, her novel Quelque chose à cacher won both the Prix des Deux Magots and the Prix de la Ville de Nantes, while in 2018, L’année de l’éducation sentimentale received the Prix Jean-Freustié / Fondation de France. Her novel Un dimanche à Ville-d’Avray was translated into English as A Sunday in Ville-d’Avray and published by Daunt Books. Barbéris also leads creative writing workshops at the Sorbonne.
