Identities in the Mirror of Contemporary Narrative: A Conversation with Marta Carnicero

Spain Spain

Instituto Cervantes Tokyo

Spanish with simultaneous Japanese interpretation

Marta Carnicero is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish literature. Her prose deftly navigates the intimate worlds of her characters while unveiling the invisible tensions that shape their lives. Her recent work, Matrioskas (2023), has garnered attention for its subtle exploration of the complexities of the human condition, particularly within hostile historical contexts. In this event, Carnicero will be interviewed by esteemed journalist Gonzalo Robledo, correspondent for El País (Spain) and El Espectador (Colombia), and will share excerpts from her work with the audience. We look forward to seeing you there!
