Lithuania Lithuania

Goethe-Institut Tokyo

English/Japanese/Lithuanian

In her short film Plants Which Grow in My Sky (2024), Lithuanian writer, poet, philosopher, and artist Aušra Kaziliūnaitė examines how we might reconsider the relationship between humans and nature in today's world. Drawing from her extensive experience as a poet and her PhD in philosophy, she intertwines her own poetry, philosophical reflections, dreams, and intimate personal confessions in this film. The screening will be followed by poetry readings and a discussion about the nature of poetry writing and translation between Kaziliūnaitė and Japanese translator Aya Kimura.
