Sato Inoue is a literary translator based in Japan. She began her translating career after graduating from Waseda University. She has been involved in the translation of English-Japanese publications for 15 years and has translated 61 English-language books to date. She received her MA in Literary Translation from the Graduate School of East Anglia, England, in 2021.She has translated such works as Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsey and I for Isobel by Amy Witting. Recent translations include Pew by Catherine Lacey, Disappearing Earth by Julia Phillips, TRUST by Hernan Diaz, and the Deadly Education series by Naomi Novik . She is currently translating contemporary literature from both the United States and Europe.
