Yusho Takiguchi is a fiction writer who was awarded the Shincho Prize for New Writers in 2011 for his novella Gakki. His short story collection Ai to jinsei won the Noma Literary New Face Prize in 2015. In 2016, he received the Akutagawa Prize for his novella Shindeinaimono and the Oda Sakunosuke Prize for his novel Suiheisen. Most recently, in 2023, he was honoured with the Kawabata Prize for his novella Hantaihokoiki. Takiguchi also participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa in 2018.
